林氏於香港演藝學院取得音樂學士學位,憑傑出表現獲頒一級榮譽。畢業後,她先後獲萬瑞庭音樂基金獎學金及德州基督教大學獎學金,負笈美國深造,取得音樂碩士學位。其後憑全額獎學金於堪薩斯大學修讀音樂藝術博士,獲頒音樂藝術博士學位。
林氏曾於多個國際及本地音樂比賽中屢獲殊榮,亦曾擔任道格拉斯、法蘭克、羅文薩爾、卡普林斯基、李雲迪、佩里及齊默曼等鋼琴大師班的演奏。她曾獲美國全國音樂教師協會青年藝術家鋼琴比賽第一名及全國第三名,並曾獲亞洲文化委員會馮秉芬爵士夫人音樂獎助金,赴美國亞斯本音樂節深造。她亦多次受邀舉辦獨奏會,包括由香港康樂及文化事務署《Our Music Talents Series》舉辦的鋼琴獨奏演出;亦受邀由 Musica Viva 擔任鋼琴獨奏,參與《Enrique Granados 150th Anniversary Concert》音樂會。林氏亦受邀由香港藝術節安排參與《Music and Art Concert: Goya’s World through Granados’s Goyescas》鋼琴獨奏演出。林氏是香港演藝學院《貝多芬32》錄音項目中的鋼琴家之一,此外,她也參與了香港演藝學院《蕭邦鋼琴音樂節》的演出。
除獨奏外,林氏熱愛室樂,並積極參與室內樂演出與比賽。她是室樂三重奏組合 Wakarusa Trio 的創辦人之一,亦曾於美國獲得多個室樂獎項,其中包括美國全國音樂教師協會室樂比賽之頂尖成績。Wakarusa Trio 曾於紐約卡內基音樂廳作首演。林氏也曾與多間本地及專業藝團合作演出,包括香港小交響樂團、香港管弦樂團、香港管弦樂團、香港芭蕾舞團、以及非凡美樂等。
林氏現於香港演藝學院任教室樂,並不時擔任亞洲鋼琴比賽評委。她亦曾與多個著名機構合作演出,並持續受邀擔任音樂比賽評審工作。
Lam holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, awarded with First Class Honours. Following her graduation, she received The Bernard van Zuiden Music Fund Scholarship from the Music Foundation Scholarship, as well as the Texas Christian University Scholarship, to pursue postgraduate studies in the United States. She earned her Master of Music degree at Texas Christian University. She subsequently completed her Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of Kansas with a full scholarship.
Lam has performed in masterclasses with internationally acclaimed pianists, including Douglas Humpherys,Claude Franck,Glen Roven, Yoheved Kaplinsky, Lang Lang, John Perry, and Krystian Zimerman. She was awarded the Lady Fung Music Fellowship from the Asian Culture Council to collaborate with world-renowned institutions at the Aspen Music Festival and School in the United States. She has achieved outstanding results in numerous international and local music competitions. Her accolades include First Prize and Third Prize in the Music Teachers National Association Young Artist Piano Competition. She has been invited to present solo recitals, including performances under the Leisure and Cultural Services Department’s “Our Music Talents Series.” She was also invited by Musica Viva as a piano soloist for the “Enrique Granados 150th Anniversary Concert,”and participated in the Hong Kong Arts Festival in the piano solo performance “Music and Art Concert: Goya’s World through Granados’s Goyescas.” Lam was one of the pianists recorded for HKAPA’s “Beethoven 32,” and she also performed in HKAPA’s “Chopin Piano Festival.”
In addition to solo performance, Lam is an active chamber musician. She co-founded the chamber trio Wakarusa Trio and has received multiple U.S. chamber music awards, including top achievements in the Music Teachers National Association chamber music competition. The trio made its Carnegie Hall debut in New York, and Lam has collaborated with organizations, including the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Hong Kong Ballet, and Musica Viva.
Lam currently teaches chamber music at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and, from time to time, serves as a juror for the Piano Competition in Asia. She continues to work with distinguished organisations and is regularly invited to adjudicate at piano competitions.
